[Reporter: Zhang Jingya / Taichung Report] The world's largest medical equipment exhibition, MEDICA in Dusseldorf, Germany, opened on the 18th of November local time. The Hsinchu Science Park, Central Taiwan Science Park, and Southern Taiwan Science Park all organized delegations to participate, engaging in discussions and exchanges with international medical equipment manufacturers. Additionally, facilitated by the Central Taiwan Science Park Accelerator, Fubon Technology signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Taiwan-Netherlands Accelerator (Tiger Accelerator), demonstrating their intent for future collaboration.

Seizing the opportunity, delegations from the Hsinchu, Central Taiwan, and Southern Taiwan science parks organized a joint investment promotion seminar on the opening day of MEDICA. The seminar aimed to promote Taiwan's excellent investment environment and explore opportunities in smart healthcare. Fubon Technology and KaiZen Genetics, two smart healthcare startups introduced by the Central Taiwan Science Park Accelerator, exhibited at MEDICA. Moreover, their European partners were invited to the investment promotion seminar to learn about the investment environment in the science parks, fostering deep exchanges among participants during the event.

In addition, to assist startup companies in expanding into foreign markets, with the facilitation of the Central Taiwan Science Park Accelerator, Fubon Technology and the Taiwan-Netherlands Accelerator signed a memorandum of cooperation, demonstrating their future cooperation intentions. The Central Taiwan Science Park Administration stated that Fubon Technology is dedicated to developing exoskeleton bionic technology products, with its key technology being recognized with the Global Top 100 Science and Technology Research and Development Award in 2016. The Taiwan-Netherlands Accelerator has accumulated a 10-year network and resources in Europe, believing it can assist Taiwanese companies in expanding into Europe more rapidly and integrating with European culture.

The Central Taiwan Science Park Administration also noted that MEDICA in Germany has been held for over 40 years, serving as a platform for expanding into the European medical equipment market and the best platform for connecting with the global medical materials industry and buyers. To promote Taiwanese brands on the world stage, the Central Taiwan Science Park Administration, together with the Office of the "Central Taiwan Acceleration Program for Biomedical Industry Innovation" at the Plastics Technology Center, led about 50 people from academia, research, and medicine, including SURGLASSES, Shin Guang Optical Electronics, Cheng Yun, Yi Tai, Shuo Chen, Yang Cheng, Rong Mao, Quan You, Chang Yang, Industrial Technology Research Institute, Rui Tai, Taiwan Instrument Center, Cheng Da, and Shi Yan, to attend MEDICA. They cooperated closely from startup incubation, product research and development, material development and manufacturing, prototype medical material production to medical material market promotion. They believe that in the future, Taiwan will not only thrive in the blue ocean of biomedicine but also step onto the world stage, creating more high-value-added smart medical products and jointly promoting the brand of Taiwan's biotechnology industry worldwide.
